We are pleased to share with you the master plan of the Aloko Buddhist Center. This overview offers a clear vision of what the center will look like once fully completed. The project is thoughtfully designed and spans a total area of 8,167 square feet, divided into three main sections:
Monks’ Quarters
Meditation Hall / Shrine Hall
Parking Lot
Current Progress
Construction work officially began on Tuesday, July 16th, 2019. As of July 1st, 2025, we have successfully completed approximately 60% of the Monks’ Quarters building. The ground floor is now fully finished and currently accommodates two resident monks.
The Meditation Hall and Parking Lot have not yet been started.
During last year’s Rains Retreat (Vassana), we completed the second phase of the Monks’ Quarters. With the joyful support of our donors and community members, we were able to construct the concrete roof slab with bricks and the structural framework for the first floor. However, construction was paused due to a lack of funds.
Next Steps
We plan to resume construction during the upcoming Vassana Retreat 2025. The remaining work will be carried out in phases, as outlined below:
